ARISS contact planned for school in
The Complex of Secondary Schools (Zespol
Szkol Technicznych, ZST) is located in one of the oldest and most beautiful
towns of
It is the oldest school in this region,
founded in 1924, which provides education for four years on a technical level,
two or three years on a vocational
level, and Further Education School for adults. The education subjects
are the following: information technology, electronics, electrical engineering,
mechanical engineering, mechatronics, car mechanics and starting from this year
economical-administrative, car mechanics, machining centre operators, craftsmen
(multi-vocational classes), mechanical engineering
with maturity examination. School runs re-qualification courses for production
plants and factories' employees and courses for the unemployed people. There
are about ninety well-qualified teachers and 750 students attend the school.
The Complex of Secondary Schools holds a
QUALITY CERTIFICATE ISO 9002 and is equipped with the modern technological
equipment gained thanks to the European Union support finances. There are
modern training centres: computer use, modern controlling techniques using
microprocessor controller units for welding, numerically controlled machines,
computer aiding of technological processes. They take part in national and
international programs or projects like Leonardo da Vinci and Socrates.

ARISS is an international educational
outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian
Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations
from participating countries.
ARISS offers an opportunity for students
to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with
crewmembers onboard the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and
communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can
energize youngsters' interest in science, technology and learning.
