ARISS CONTACT FOR ESA ASTRONAUT
PAOLO NESPOLI, IZ0JPA AND “IMPARARE SPERIMENTANDO” SUCCESSFUL

Sperimentando” (Experiencing Learning) in Pordenone, Italy, established a
ARISS contact with Italian astronaut PAOLO NESPOLI, IZ0JPA on board the
International Space Station. This was a telebridge contact by ARISS ground
station LU8YY, Argentina.
"Impara Sperimentando”
(Experiencing Learning) is an interactive exposure of physics experiments and
science targeted observation of all aspects of natural phenomena, located in
Pordenone, North-East Italy.
The purpose of the exhibition are:
share expertise and experience from research environments and schools; share
skills and experiences of different schools; intervene in the daily teaching;
carry out activities involving all visitors and especially students and
schools; use new technologies in a meaningful way and the sensors on-line;
enable the laboratory work; and finally, curiosity and provide scientifically
correct information to every citizen.
ARISS mentor Francesco De Paolis,
IK0WGF proposed a telebridge contact to Mr. Isidoro Sciarratta, coordinator for
this ARISS event. The questions were read by pupils and students at the "Impara
Sperimentando” venue with an audience of more than 400 participants.
At 11:43 UTC contact with NA1SS was
established by station LU8YY, argentina. Astronaut
Paolo NESPOLI answered 16 questions. The signal from the ISS was loud and clear
all the time.
