ARISS CONTACT PLANNED WEDNESDAY 9 MAY 2007 WITH SCHOOL IN PORTUGAL

  

An International Space Station school contact has been planned with students at Estarreja Secondary School in Central Portugal. The radio contact is due to begin at 14:58 UTC on Wednesday 9 May 2007. This corresponds to 15.58 in Portugal, Ireland and UK and 16.28 in continental Europe.

 

The contact should be audible in most of Europe. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.800 MHz downlink. All students are licensed radio amateurs.The participants are expected to conduct the conversation in English.

 

Students will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:

6. My Name is Joao, CT2JQH: What limitations do you have while you are in Space? OVER.

 

7. My Name is Jose, CT1EEB. Have you done any EVA during this mission? If yes, for what purpose? OVER.

 

8. My Name is Teresa, CT2JQI: How do you spend your spare time? OVER.

 

9. My Name is Jorge, CT2JMR: How many astronauts are on-board right now? OVER.

 

10. My Name is Nuno, CT2JQH: What radio and antenna equipment are you using to communicate with us right now? OVER.
